I joined the hops crew in 2017 when my friend-in-food and new CL hops manager Holly Koster needed extra hands to train the bines in time.

I’m a self-employed musician, so I thought the experience would serve a multitude of purposes – growing our local foods economy while helping a friend while getting a solid tan, exercise, and life experience while feeding the songwriting flame.

It has done all that and more – including making me a conditional morning person, increasing my knowledge about this specialty crop and booming craft beer industry, kindling friendships with brewers from both new and very established breweries, and deepening my roots to my hometown community.

I believe we are all on the same team. As we all learn how to better serve the next link in the chain, the more we all benefit. Let’s do this, people!
